Dr. Ivo Pitanguy, a pioneering cosmetic surgeon in Brazil passed away this past Saturday at the age of 93. Dr. Pitanguy was one of Dr. Brandow’s mentors, confidants and role models, and he was so lucky to have trained and studied with him during his time in Rio. Dr. Brandow spent 3 years with Pitanguy and developed a lifelong friendship with him in and out of the surgery center. He was a close friend who he played tennis with and looked up to in many ways. Dr. Brandow still remains close with his nephew to this day and will miss him so much. We are thinking of his family during this trying time.
